First 2017 CRSCCA Newsletter

Post by BethCox » Sun Feb 19, 2017 4:21 pm

Hello, Chattanooga Region

Newsletter for February 2017

It’s been a long while since we have had a newsletter, so please bear with us as we try to re-establish some communication among and about our members.

The good news is that the first autocross of the season has been scheduled for Sunday March 5 at Dade High School, where we were last fall. It’s an interesting venue, and lends itself well to some tight and twisty turns. April and May dates are in the works as well. Advance registration will be at:
http://www.motorsportreg.com/

We’ll publish future event notices in the newsletter and on our Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/63181621672/

If you know someone who has never autocrossed before, but you think they might be interested, invite them to come out and send them this link, which explains it all:

Meanwhile, for club racers, time trialers and PDXers, motorsportreg also has a pretty good list of various racing, time trial, autocross and PDX events in nearby regions and you can follow the links there to register for anything that suits your fancy.

FYI, the local region president for 2017 is Gerald Street, who can be reached via email at: GStreet@komatsuna.com.

Bob Moates (bob.moates@outlook.com)
is also actively involved, and handles the web site for the Chattanooga region.

Both Gerald and Bob deserve a round of applause for holding this region together.

Board meetings and a bench racing social event are held monthly, starting at 6:30 p.m. at O’Charley’s Restaurant in Hixson. Notices are posted on Facebook. Hope to see you there. We had a great group at the last meeting, best turnout in recent months.

And by the way, if you have something you’d like to contribute to the newsletter, whether it be a blog post, an event recap or even a car or tow vehicle for sale, just send an email to me, Beth Cox (bethfrancescox@gmail.com) and we’ll try to get it in the next newsletter. I’m new to this region, but I have a long history with the New York region back in the 90s.

See you on March 5.
