Notes from the Solo Staff Meeting 1/31/2015

Post by shaggybob » Sun Feb 01, 2015 10:03 am

First off the biggest news of the meeting, we have reached an agreement with the Jet Port for 2015 and we have a season!

We will also be going back to themed events. We have done this this before and it’s fun.

While it was never removed from the supplements, we had stopped doing annual tech. We are going to do that again this year. Qualification for annual tech is completely up to the Chief of Tech.

We will try to get helmet inspection stickers for 2015

We will be leaving our STM class AS IS in the supplemental regulations.

CAM classing will be as prescribed in the 2015 SCCA Solo Rules

The 2015 Solo Staff
Solo Chair – Bob Moates
Chief of Safety – Gerald Street
Chief of Course – Will Smith
Chief of Operations – Jeff Applebaum

Chief of Registration – Cory Simmons
Chief of Timing & Scoring – Travis Uga

Well...that is good news.....Was the proposed 2015 schedule discussed and agreed too? If not can we get some idea when the schedule will be posted? Proposed T&T only 3 weeks away. Can't wait for season to start.

I'm interested in doing the Safety Steward class at the Test N' Tune this month. Who do I need to contact to get signed up for it?

A question some peeps from ETR are not coming because of the price for a T&T....6 runs @ $40.00 = $6.66 for each run and $5.00 each additional. I think ours will be around $25.00 for as many runs as you want in the session. I will be their money not a problem for me....but I understand their point. I also understand the cost of events at the Jetport. Can you explain a little how the minds involved decided on run tickets rather then run groups? So I can pass that on.

Fees:
Member Registration (includes 6 run tickets): $40
Non-Member Registration (includes 6 run tickets): $55
Day of Event Registration Fee: $5 (Save money and register online)
Online payments include extra $2 credit card fee

Additional Runs:
$5.00 Each. Depending on the number of entries we will limit the total number of runs sold. Additional run tickets will only be available after the Driver's Meeting.

That's actually the exact same structure as our test and tune last year, only the base price was different, $30 vs $40, and we offered additional runs at $5 or 3 for $10.
The $30 to $40 change is exactly the the same our as regular events after we lost Eastgate and moved to the Jet port.

With our lot rent, we would have to have well over a hundred drivers to do something like $25 and at that point unlimited runs might be less than six in reality due to the number of drivers.
