2015 Solo Schedule?

Post by Gen52SS » Wed Dec 17, 2014 8:12 am

The schedule for 2015 ETR has been posted. I plan on becoming a duel member ETR and Chatt and run for points in 2015. I want to make all the events if possible. How many events must I be a part of to be eligible? I also hope you can work out dates and times again this season as not to clash with ETR schedule. I'll post ETR's schedule here as well a few changes might be made as we get closer to March 1st.

Feb 28 is Saturdayay and it will be a test n tune at pelli with a event the next day on
March 1st,
March 22nd also at pelli,
April 11 and 12th at smokie stadium will be a etr event and a divisional just like 2014 was,
April 26th will be the next event and pelli may be the site we are exploring a different site for this one,
May 17th will be next up at pelli probably,
May 23 & 24 EVO Driving School Smokies Stadium
June 21 at pelli,
July 12th at pelli,
Aug.8 and 9th at chilhowee,
Sept.19th at adessa,
Oct. 3rd will be our etr school with a event on
Oct. 4th site to be determined,
Oct. 18th at pelli or a site we are trying to get and
Nov. 1st at pelli.

The chilhowee event was moved ahead to the Aug. 8 & 9 due to a national event on Aug. 15 &16. These dates and location may change if a conflict arises, but this should be our schedule for 2015

Looks like there's a few conflicts between the two region's proposed schedules: 3/22, 5/17, & 7/12

In a perfect world, where I have no conflicts next year, I would like to do the following:
2/22- Chatt T&T
2/28- ETR T&T
3/1- ETR
3/7-3/8- Blytheville Pro (doubtful)
3/14-3/15- Dixie NT (making this a requirement this year)
3/22- Chatt
4/11-4/12 ETR SEDiv
4/19- Chatt
4/26- ETR
5/2-5/3- Corvette NT (probably)
5/17- Chatt
6/6-6/7 Moultrie GA NT (doubtful)
6/14- Chatt
6/21- ETR
7/12- Chatt
8/8-8/9- ETR (also Wilmington NT)
8/16- Chatt
9/13- Charr
9/19- ETR
10/4- ETR
10/11- Chatt
10/18- ETR
11/1- ETR
11/8- Chatt
12/6- Chatt

I'd love to think that I'll be able to do all of these and possibly some more Pros and Tours and some ChumpCar, but we'll see how the year goes. I better start playing the lotto now

Justin...how many events must I make in class to contend for CRSCCA points championship? I think ETR requires you must compete in 7 points events? How about CR? I've at least 26 events on my schedule. On the 3 that conflict I may need to adjust a bit.

I don't think we have a required minimum number of events to be eligible, but I do know that we typically drop your two lowest events. So basically you would want to complete 8+ events to go for a win. We don't really do a championship per car class. We have an open-class champion, and a pro-class champion only. No jackets like ETR

Justin...Yes phase one Saturday and phase two Sunday. That's how it was done last year. The driving instructors not mentioned yet. Rain or shine they run. Last year phase one was WET.

I've done two Phase 1s and and Advantage school before. I gotta get my folks in on a school this year for sure.

Any ideas on when they'll open registration? I probably need to just hop on the ETR forum again and find all these answers out myself :D

http://www.evoschool.com/

East Tennessee Region of the SCCA, Evolution will be holding a Phase One and Two Drivers School on Saturday and Sunday May 23rd 24th at Smokies Stadium in Kodak, TN. This program is great for anyone looking to take their driving to the next level. Our Phase Two features 24 runs on 4 different course configurations, and all with our team of National Caliber instructors. Our Phase Two will cover a review of the skills in the Phase One, as well as help students develop a proactive approach to driving.

All Evolution Performance Driving Schools take place rain or shine, and students will use their own vehicle for training. Student's vehicles will under go a tech inspection the morning of, and all students should be sure to have plenty of fuel, oil, air, etc. for the day.
Some additional items that we would suggest bringing to the event would be rain gear, sun glasses, sun block, and a hat. You may also want to consider bringing a folding chair, as well as a tarp in case of bad weather.

Schedule:
•7:00am Site Opens
•7:45am Cars Must be Ready for Tech
•8:30am Drivers Meeting (Drivers Must be Present)
•9:00am Instructed Sessions Begins
•12:30pm Working Lunch
•1:00pm Instructed Session Continue
•4:30pm Wrap-up Meeting

Directions can be found at: For more information on this, as well as other Evolution Performance Driving Schools, please contact Mike Johnson at:junior@evoschool.com Additional Information about the East Tennesse Region of the SCCA can be found at: http://www.etrscca.org

Just out of curiosity, when did ETR set their dates. I know we published our dates for the first time on November 13th.

Last year, when setting our dates I reached out to Jeff Cox to get the ETR dates before planning our 2014 schedule. I was really hoping for some cooperation with ETR on scheduling.

Bob...I think we posted the ETR schedule about December 15th cooperation between the two regions a must. I'm a member of both regions it's going to be hard for me to get enough events in both to qualify for championship points plus we just added Bristol Speedway.

And there are a lot of people that are members of both clubs and I would suspect a lot of ETR only members that still come down the the Jet Port.

Unfortunately our ability to run at the Jet Port is significantly impacted when the 2 clubs have conflicting dates. We took a huge participation hit last year when ETR had a date change at the last minute.

It would be nice if we could rely solely on our membership to keep our heads above water, however we have one choice for lots right now and that one requires us to rely on ETR participation.

I'm know that there are more factors impacting schedules than just whatever another region is doing but cooperation would have been awesome.

As it stand right now there are 3 conflicts with dates. That means that for an ETR member to also compete for points in the CR, they will have to be at the top of their game and make a minimum of 8 events, which means missing 1 ETR event to come down here. It sucks that anyone has to make that choice.

Would running on some Saturdays be an option with the Jetport? Seems like Sundays work best for most people but I would love to run some Saturdays.

Saturdays won't work there because they are an Airport first and foremost. When weather gets nice they will have a lot of Saturday traffic.

Bob ...YES it will be hard to run for points in both ETR only needs 7 events to qualify. This season I just started with Registration Staff and MSR Organizer with ETR. It might be too late to change schedules around but I will do as much as I can to promote the Jetport at all of our events. I like running at the Jetport you guys all do a great job putting this together. You might want to send an email or PM to Jeff Cox Solo Chair and Mark Pilson RE to get the two clubs more on the same page. I look forward to a great 2015 with CRSCCA in 2015.

We are discussing the possibility of changing the dates for the conflicting events, but can't do a whole lot about the T&T considering a Pro Solo in Arkansas on the following weekend and then Dixie after that.

Long run, we need a venue and turnout that is self supporting. We love that so many ETR folks come down to our events and would hate to see that change. Relying on ETR to help us make ends meet is dangerous because ETR has to do what's best for them and that may not always be best for us. It's also not ETR's responsibility to help us though we do love it when it works out that way.
